A Solution for Jiu Jitsu Academies
Currently, lots of academies are having a hard time paying expenses due to the current situation. At Jiu Jitsu World League we came up with an idea that we wanted to share with the affected gyms. The idea is a general plan of action and if you like it please feel free to adapt however you see fit.

Steps
1. Start a live streaming service for techniques and drills only accessible by your students.
2. As a bonus, offer your students credit for future months. The credit would be equal to the period of time the gym has been closed.
(There is a big risk of your academy losing students because they don't know how long this crisis will last. The goal is to provide them with a temporary solution where they feel comfortable keeping their membership as long as this economic slowdown lasts. They will understand that you are being more than fair by offering them online live classes and credit for any time they missed.)
3. Optional: Come up with other bonuses to offer your students. For example, a free seminar when the academy reopens. (The key here is for your academy to keep as many memberships active as possible.)
Communication with Your Students
As the owner of your academy, you know how to communicate with your students better than we can advise you, Below is an example email you are welcome to use if you would like. We recommend that you personalize the email according to your natural language.
Email Example:
" Students,
We can't tell you enough how happy we are with all the support we are receiving from our members during these chaotic times. We are all in this together. I know many of you don't want to lose the momentum you have gained in Jiu Jitsu so we have decided to start an exclusive group for our academies students where we live-streaming classes once a day Monday - Friday. In these classes, we will continue to breakdown new techniques used in Jiu Jitsu. Also, if you attend these classes live, you will be able to interact with us through the chat during the videos. This will allow you to ask questions and receive additional clarification regarding techniques if necessary. However, if you can't attend our live classes, the videos will remain available on the Facebook group for you to watch at a later time.
We realize the streaming classes aren't necessarily as valuable as in-person instruction, so we are also offering a credit for every single day that the gym is closed. After the gym reopens we will work out a schedule with everyone to disperse the credited time.
Our goal in this was to continue to offer you value during this time off and make sure that you get exactly what you paid for. (Martial arts instruction.)

How to Live Stream
1. You will need a computer with a webcam or a cell phone. (We will only explain cell phone steaming.)
2. With a cell phone, we suggest getting some sort of mobile tripod. They can be found on Amazon with keywords "cell phone tripod"
3. Download the Facebook App on your cell phone. (Anyone that is an admin on the group can live stream.)
4. On the Facebook App create a group and make it private. It will only be accessible to members selected by the admins. The admin will need to manually authorize the various users.(Video References Below)
5. First, before inviting people into the group. Test your live stream and make sure it works 100% before you inviting your students. You don't want to be testing and fixing problems while members are active in the stream.
6. Then send everyone involved an email with the group link and your planned online schedule. The good news with these videos is that even when you aren't live they will be saved for free in the private group.
